Workshops at the 2026 Conference

Legal Framework

This workshop introduces Lawyers Against Genocide, a reporting and documentation platform where individuals can submit incidents involving hate speech, racist remarks, incitement to violence, or discriminatory statements directed at Palestinians and pro-Palestinian supporters. Reports can be submitted anonymously, and cases are reviewed by legal professionals who assess what action, if any, may be possible within relevant legal and institutional frameworks. The workshop will also address how to document incidents responsibly, prioritising credibility, safety, and data protection while strengthening accountability efforts across Europe.

Update: The detailed workshop programme will be published on 28 January.

Cultural and Art Documentation

Led by Wejdan, a young journalist from Gaza launching her book during the conference, this workshop explores how Palestinian experiences can be documented through art, storytelling, and creative expression. It focuses on preserving memory, resisting erasure, and communicating lived reality in ways that are truthful, dignified, and impactful, especially in contexts of genocide, displacement, and censorship. The session connects cultural documentation to wider efforts to strengthen cross-border solidarity and public understanding.

Update: The detailed workshop programme will be published on 28 January.

The Handala Fund

The Handala Fund supports informative initiatives that strengthen the Palestinian narrative and expand public understanding rooted in rights and justice. Having already supported 12 initiatives, this workshop will focus on refining the fund’s model, widening its reach across Europe, and building sustainable support structures. The session will also explore how the fund can better identify high-impact projects, strengthen transparency, and create stronger links between initiatives so they can collaborate through the network.

Update: The detailed workshop programme will be published on 28 January.

Education and Curriculum Development

This workshop brings together educators, students, and researchers to develop curriculum resources for schools and universities that reflect Palestine with nuance, historical context, and fact-based framing. The focus is on building materials that support critical thinking and human-rights-based learning, while being adaptable across European education systems. The session will also explore how shared resources and partnerships can help educators teach the topic with confidence and integrity.

Update: The detailed workshop programme will be published on 28 January.

Sports and Public Engagement

Building on the “Run for Palestine” event, held twice in 2024 and 2025, each time with around 3,000 participants, this workshop focuses on developing the initiative into a coordinated, Europe-wide platform for public engagement. The session will explore how sport can mobilise broad communities, create visible solidarity in public space, and connect local action to cross-border organising. It will also address practical coordination, so the initiative can scale while staying safe, accessible, and message-consistent across different countries.

Update: The detailed workshop programme will be published on 28 January.

Social Media and Communication Strategy

This workshop focuses on strengthening collective digital impact through better coordination, clearer language, and shared messaging principles. It will address how to communicate Palestinian realities in a way that is credible, consistent, and effective across platforms, especially when public debate is polarised and misinformation spreads quickly. The aim is to improve how initiatives and communities align content, timing, and framing so efforts reinforce one another and create stronger reach and impact.

Update: The detailed workshop programme will be published on 28 January.

Political Engagement

With political figures joining the conference, this workshop will focus on how political awareness can be built and sustained around the protection of Palestinian rights, human rights, and international law. The session will explore how advocacy can move beyond short-term attention cycles by developing clearer priorities, stronger outreach, and more effective engagement with decision-makers and institutions. The goal is to strengthen long-term political attention and accountability in a rights-based framework.

Update: The detailed workshop programme will be published on 28 January.

About the European Palestinian Network

The European Palestinian Network (EPN) is a Europe-wide initiative that brings together activists, organisations, academics, journalists, and communities committed to promoting freedom, rights, and justice for the Palestinian people. By connecting actors across borders, EPN seeks to strengthen solidarity, share knowledge, and support joint initiatives that contribute to a just and sustainable future for Palestine.

As part of this broader work, the European Palestinian Network Conference is an annual conference that brings together academics, journalists, civil society organisations, policymakers, and grassroots movements from across Europe and Palestine. The conference provides a shared space to discuss freedom, rights, and justice in relation to Palestine, and to strengthen transnational solidarity and cooperation.

Through panels, workshops, and networking sessions, the conference highlights Palestinian experiences and perspectives that are often marginalised in mainstream debates. It aims to foster nuanced, fact-based discussions, connect existing initiatives, and inspire new forms of collaboration.

By creating a forum for exchanging knowledge, strategies, and lived experiences, the European Palestinian Network Conference seeks to support efforts towards accountability, human rights, and a just and lasting future for the Palestinian people.
